The European Union funds quantum technology research and development through various instruments, such as Horizon Europe or Digital Europe (infrastructure investments). Additionally, different European countries run funding programs dedicated to quantum technology, strengthening research and development while laying the groundwork for the growth of companies engaged in quantum technology.
In the table below, you will find a list of currently open project calls. This list may not be exhaustive; more detailed information can be found here: Search Funding & Tenders (europa.eu)

QuTest: Step into the Future of Quantum
The call is open to all EU companies in search of testing & experimentation facilities incorporating cutting-edge technologies in quantum computing, communication, and sensing.
Your organization must be established in one of the member states of the European Union, Iceland, Norway or Israel, with majority ownership and control therein. Successful companies will become parties to the Qu-Test Framework Partnership Agreement and will need to undergo an ownership control assessment required by the European Commission.
For the eligibility conditions please refer to the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2021, Digital, Industry and Space under the call: ‘HORIZON-CL4-2021-DIGITAL-EMERGING-02-22: Framework Partnership Agreements for open testing and experimentation and for pilot production capabilities for quantum technologies (FPA)’.
Quantum Communication Infrastructure
This topic will support the deployment of quantum communication infrastructure for connections between Member States, including OCTs:
Where the national segments of quantum communication infrastructure are already in place or where their deployment is already ongoing or operationally planned; and
Where a cross-border link between at least two EU countries (including outermost regions and OCTs), or a space segment interconnection is foreseen.
Proposals should define the post-project ownership of the infrastructure and describe the mechanism to be used to provide services, as well as the operational relationship(s) between the different participants in the value chain for providing services.
