The event brought together members of Estonia\u2019s quantum community and experts to explore the applications of quantum technologies in the space sector and discuss Estonia\u2019s potential in this rapidly evolving field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The event also marked the final phase of a study commissioned by the <strong>European Space Agency (ESA)<\/strong>. The goal of the study was to map the capabilities of Estonian companies and research institutions in developing quantum technologies for space-related applications. This was followed by presentations from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kristjan Krips<\/strong> (Cybernetica), who introduced the topic of post-quantum cryptography and its practical applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ingrid Linnas<\/strong> (EstQCI coordinator, RIKS), who gave an overview of the EstQCI project aimed at developing Estonia\u2019s quantum communication capabilities and establishing the foundational infrastructure for new cybersecurity solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Christopher Vasko<\/strong> (ESA), who provided insights into ESA\u2019s programmes and quantum technology developments, with a focus on the\u00a0<em>Scylight \u2013 Optical and Quantum Communication<\/em> programme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Simone Briatore<\/strong> (Founder of Golbriak Space), who presented the company\u2019s projects aimed at enabling fast and secure data exchange between space, airborne, maritime, and ground assets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"505\" src=\"https:\/\/kvant.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Image-10-e1750417945960.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kvant.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Image-10-e1750417945960.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/kvant.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Image-10-e1750417945960-300x148.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/kvant.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Image-10-e1750417945960-768x379.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the presentations, the event continued with lively discussions and active networking among company representatives, researchers, policymakers, and experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It is encouraging to see that Estonia\u2019s quantum community is rapidly growing and interest in the field continues to rise.
