The European Union finances quantum technology research and development through various instruments such as Horizon Europe and Digital Europe (infrastructure investments). Different European countries have dedicated funding programmes for the development of quantum technologies, aimed at strengthening research and development as well as creating the foundations for the growth of companies working in quantum technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HORIZON Action Grant Budget-Based [HORIZON-AG]<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This two-phase instrument is primarily aimed at startups developing quantum computing solutions that have integrated hardware and software prototypes. The objective of Phase 1 is to develop a comprehensive technical and financial roadmap and to present a physical proof of principle or an initial prototype that demonstrates the technical feasibility of the solution through standardized benchmarks and identifies potential end users. The objective of Phase 2 is to support the transition of these prototypes into scalable, market-ready platforms; successful startups (up to 7) will receive EIB venture debt financing (InvestEU\/Horizon Europe, typically two tranches of approximately \u20ac15 million) to develop and validate these platforms in real-world environments, demonstrating clear quantum utility and attracting private investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maltese SME specialising in the real-world deployment of developed quantum-safe communication technologies seeks R&D partners<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Maltese company seeks financial institutions, telecommunication operators, supervisory or policy bodies, universities and research institutes that would like to join their consortium seeking EU funding to further build on the work already carried out under the quantum communication initiative PRISM as part of the PRISM EuroQCI project funded project, to work on a proposal together to work for EU funding such as Horizon Europe, EUREKA or EUROSTARS.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
